MALIBU, California — Residents who missed a late-October workshop on winter-storm preparedness can now review the city’s recording before the rainy season. Malibu posted the video after its October 27, 2026 panel discussion with representatives from Los Angeles County Fire, the Sheriff’s Department, County Public Works and regional utilities.
What the recorded discussion covers
According to the City of Malibu, speakers described how their agencies were preparing for the coming storm season and answered questions from the community. Southern California Edison and SoCalGas were among the partners involved. The recording is linked through the city’s El Niño preparedness resources.
The city is using the workshop materials to help residents think about flood-prone roads, evacuation planning and possible service disruptions before severe weather arrives. Viewing an earlier workshop is not a substitute for checking current official warnings, which can change quickly during a storm.
Practical next steps in hillside neighborhoods
Malibu Hills households can use the information to review their emergency contacts, know the safest available routes out of their neighborhood, and understand which agency handles roads, utilities or emergency notifications. Those living near steep slopes should also consult current city and county guidance about debris flow and erosion risks rather than relying on a generic regional forecast.
